Default Looking For Local Riders,,,,PA

Hey All, I live in York, Pa and have a 06 500 SportsmanEFI, I'm currently looking for some folks to ride with. I have done most of my Riding at Michaux State Forest, but have done some in Clearfield and a few other areas. I'm basically looking for some other people in my area to ride with!! My buddy and I seem to be only one's out of the little group of are friends that are somewhat dedicated to getting out and hitting the trails. As Nice as it is to have somone to ride with it would be nice to get out with a group of people sometime. Hit the trails,,,maybe even camp out for the weekend and make a few days of it. Anyway,,any Pa riders that may be looking for a couple more guys to ride with give me a shout. Thanks all for your time, and stay safe!!!!

I'm an ATVer from PA. As a matter of fact I'm 20 miles from Clearfield. We use to have so many riding areas here but most of it has been bought up from city folk and posted. What a shame. I'm hoping to maybe go out of state some time this year (Windrock TN?) but it's hard to find people who want to do that. Check out the paatving website to check for local poker runs.

There is a group from MD and PA (most within an hour from Michaux) that ride there regularly, often on one day of most weekends during the winter season. We usually coordinate the date on quadcrew.com (under the topic "other favorite trails"). We usually go on Sunday but sometimes it's Saturday. I'm hoping to do it on Saturday this coming weekend as long as the weather is reasonable. We often split up into 2 groups, one (my group) tends to be more aggressive and rides pretty much any trail (we've been on everything except for part of Grave Ridge), while the other group stays primarily on the green level trails (with an occasional blue thrown in) and rides at a relaxed pace...

Hey, My friends and I are looking for new place's to ride. We live in Hampstead, MD 10 miles south of Hanover. Bought my ATV in Hanover, Motosports Inc. We mainly ride in WV and a place down in Granite, MD. Heard about Michaux but my ATV not registered in PA. Live in Md, bought in PA. What do I have to do to get legal for PA. What if you purchased your atv from private owner in MD and want to ride in PA?

You need to register your quad with the PA DCNR. What you get by doing this is a PA license tag that you have to mount on the back of your ATV. As a MD resident you don't have to pay a title tax, all you need to do is pay the 2 year registration fee ($20.00). You fill out the form (you can download it from here, fill it out and mail it in with a copy of your ATV's title or certificate of origin and a check for the registration fee). Out of state (i.e. MD) residents would claim exemption 8 (see the instructions for details).

Then to ride at Michaux your quad must be insured (you would need a minimum of liability insurance I would think). If you bought your quad in PA I'm not sure if you are exempt from paying the title tax or not. If you are a PA resident then you must pay the title tax. For a private sale I don't know for sure, but I would think you'd need a title in your name (so as a MD resident you'd have to do a title transfer with the MVA), since you have to present a copy of your title or certificate of origin to register the quad.
