POCOMOKE RIVER STATE FOREST
#1
I want to make a trip to this DNR area out around Salisbury around the end of the month. I have to call the ranger and see if they allow riding during hunting season, and go by the DNR regional office in Annapolis to get stickers for our quads.
Has anyone been? I heard it was just a big loop and isn't very challenging, but my girlfriend is learning and just want to check it out. If anyone wants to go just let me know.
Thanks.

It would be a lot of fun for your girlfriend. It is very flat and sandy. There are a couple of little play areas that are fun And a few mud holes. It is a great place to ride for 2 hours. I am pretty sure it is open to riders all year long. There is hardly anyone there most of the time so your girlfriend wont get nervous.

Thanks for the input $. So it is as unfun as I have heard before! Well, I guess it will get her some seat-time if nothing else, and I can test my new handheld.
I see that you too are from MD, (we used to live up in Cecil), can you give me any input on the few other DNR areas in MD?
Thanks.

I am not saying it is not fun, anytime you can ride it is fun. It is just not challenging. It is still worth going, my friends and I go a couple times a year and have a blast. After your girlfriend gets right you should go to western md and ride some of those trails as well. I would recommend the poplar lick trail in the morning 12 mile round trip then get some lunch and go to the east valley/stafford trail in the afternoon, 18 mile loop. The poplar lick trail is nice and easy for your girlfriend and you get to ride through the water in alot of spots. The afternoon ride is alittle more rough but doable by the girlfrind and is a nice sceanic 18 mile loop.
Here is the link to check it out yourself.

Thanks. I've been to the site before just never rode any of the trails. Those trails sound decent, plus I got a buddy that goes to Frostburg, incase we decide to do it two days in a row. Thanks again man.
