NEW Puget Sound/Seattle/Northwest area riders MEET HERE!!! thread
Good Evening PSAR!
What?? No comments about what a great game there was yesterday? SWMBO and I watched it, well most of it, with the kids and I won a buck from her. She picked who was going to win and I got the other team. You know the rest of the story. Not a bad game I guess, first one I've watched this year.
Painters got the last of the primer on today, all the prep work and priming took a bit longer than expected due to the weather. At least it's done. We've decided to wait a couple of months before we paint. Just too much rain this year.
How's the sheetrock going Hap? Sure sounds like a lot of fun.
Have a good evening.

Good Morning PSAR!
Another great day in paradise. 36 and overcast.
Is Hap one of those people that has not learned why drywall tape is 2" wide? He probably doesn't believe in pre-filling any out of square corners either.
Hap, I've hung board in houses that were brand new construction that rooms were over 2" out of square, whole house for that matter. Don't downgrade your old house, it's better built out of better lumber than what's being done today. Rod's seen this I'm sure.
Have a super day.

Actually, this out of square spot used to be the front corner of the garage, so I guess it didn't matter to much at that time
And yes, I'm way too **** for this type of work, but I'm a cheap hire
How do you pre-fill out of square corners? I've heard of filling in gaps with mud, letting it dry, then taping it, but not pre-filling

i use a 6' concrete screed to identify the low/high studs and staple the strips to fill the gaps in order to make a flat plane to attach the drywall
this will enable you to use as little mud as possible,,,which will speed the finishing process and make things look nice
hope this helps
