The Snake River runs north, but I don't think that's the one you're talking about.

Pend Oreille river flows west from Idaho into Washington where it flows NORTH for 80 miles until it crosses into Canada where it then meets up with the Columbia (which does flow South). I was there 3 weeks ago working at Boundary Dam
