Although probably better to meet us at breakfast, these are some directions Happa sent me last year. I was glad I was able to follow someone else up, but now these directions make sense. Starting from Charlies Cafe....

Turn left on FS RD70, it's 19 miles from Charlies Cafe, stay on that road and it turns to gravel just past the big parking lot on your left. There's mile marker signs on the right side of the road, you'll want to turn left about 1/4 mile after mile marker #13. You'll notice the huge gravel parking area on your right, that spot is not too far from your left turn into the staging area.
