NEW Puget Sound/Seattle/Northwest area riders MEET HERE!!! thread
#9862
Well, we made it home in good shape. 42 miles on the quad with quite a bit of fooling around involved. Cows took off like they wanted to get it over with and be at the new location. Established herd and they know what is going on. Had to hold them up a couple of times to let the stragglers catch up. Unusual. Got enough cow poop on the quad I actually hosed it off. Should have been there Hap, those open wheels on your hot rod quad would have been a hoot.
Weather turned out nice, by eight AM it was sunny but with a cold wind. At least no rain to speak of.
You folks that have been to Eddieville aren't going to recognize the place. They are putting up power generation windmills along the upper edge all along that ridgeline. Really changing the look of the valley with all those white giants one the horizon. From what I can tell we will be able to see about 30 of them from the house when they are done. Just that much less oil or coal we'll need to burn every year to keep the country going.
Poor little Bindi, she may have to come live on the farm with the rest of the spoiled dogs. Imagine, using her to test Hap's cooking.
Have a fun evening.
Mike

Or so they would have you believe. Since we live in the land hydropower those big egg beaters won't put even a miniscule dent in the amout of coal or oil burned.
Just like CFL bulbs don't make any difference in oil or coal usage in this part of the country.

Regionally I gotta agree but they will make a difference in how much power we ship to Komufornia and points east. I understand it will take one maintenance person for each five towers so there are a lot of permanent jobs being created. Another good thing is the cash the landowners are getting for site rental. More power being made the more the landowner gets. Way better than the land returned for pasture or crops and it can still be used, for the most part, as it was before.
Snow here this morning, just a trace, which is kind of unexpected. Going to be waiting awhile before I go cut wood.
You all have a great day!
Mike
