Ok anyone w/ a fi quad I have dyno time setup for the 2/3rd of april, tryin to get it on the 5th which is a saterday, but right now it's looking like the 3rd, dyno is in Zimmerman MN, it's a Dynojet ATV dyno model 168 dynojet w/ a few upgrades, Sniffer & the whole 9yard's W/ tec w/ a few years of experience making maps/tunning, It's 120$ for 6 pulls, takes about 1 1/2 hours w/ that you will get a printout of all the run's, from hp/tq/ fi/map & a few other reading's to see the difference in runs, If you live in MN we are @ 1000ft give or take from sea level, If you R running the PCIII or powercommander from Dynojet w/ your fi quad & map from dynojet it was made @ sea level, out in CA, If you are running that fi map from dynojet your quad will run a bit rich & not performe to it's poetical here in MN/WI, Thus my time @ the dyno I have setup, If anyone wants to come along to tune, or just to check it out let me know...
PS... Klier nice post count

I would take a fi quad over a natural aspirated 1 anyday,
simplicity???? where do you get that, You Have to take a carb apart a few x's & mess w/ the right jet size & flot till you think you get it right...& some quds have 2 carbs, Ya that's simplicity to me..
When you are messing around w/ flots & gas, I can hook up a lap top up load a map & be on my way....

I'm sure simplicity is all in the eyes of the beholder. With computers comes complexity. Period. For the average (maybe even majority) of quad riders out there, they don't want to invest in $1200 worth of equipment in order to put on a pipe and have the quad run in an optimal fashion afterwards. I can swap jets a few times for that overhead. Plus, basically anyone that can turn a screwdriver can do it. Not everyone is as computer literate as us --- installing drivers, searching and downloading maps. Most people would be lost.
Besides quick starting and perhaps a more responsive throttle, I think that's where the advantages stop. When quad FI systems get more sophisticated so that you can actually modify a quad, and you don't need to screw with things further, then I'll be on board...
At any rate, both FI and carb quads won't be riding any MX down here now after this morning's half of foot dumping of snow. Grrrrr.

actually the price of pipe / intake mods for fi is the same except for price of the fuel controller (250.00) ....
i understand the frustration of the honda and yamaha 450 guys : wishing their manufactures would go to fuel injection

Best bet is to get the O2 sensor in the end of the pipe and set your fuel metering for the conditions you spend most of your time riding (temps, humidity, elevation).
Another on note if anyone in MN or WS is looking for a box stock 2006 YFZ or Triton 3 place aluminum trailer, pm me.
