HEY GOING ON A RIDE IN MAY TO WEST VIRGINIA(LOCAL TRAILS) IN WELCH.WE ARE RIDING APRIL 30th to MAY 3rd. MIGHT GO TO HATFIELD/MCCOYS ON SUNDAY AND RIDE AGAIN FOR 3 OR 4 MORE DAYS. IS ANYONE ELSE GOING AROUND THIS TIME AND WHAT'S IT LIKE IN MAY? THANKS

 

I have never been there, but already have our trip this year planned for The Middle of May. The weather is always a concern for me since we will be tenting all week at a campground.

Sorry I will miss you by a couple of weeks. We are probably just going to ride Hatfield McCoy this trip.

 

I could go around that time. Its been awhile since i've been down there and i'm due for a goo wheeler ride.

Thanks for the reply, my brother-in-law and I are breaking away from the group on SUNDAY MAY 3rd. (morning).If anyone is interested in riding with our group we're staying at the POCAHONTA's MOTEL (WELCH,WV.) on April 30th. There's probly about 15 in our group.But on Sunday in Hat./Mccoys in just 2 of us our first time going to Hat./Mccoys.Looking forward to the trip.

 

I've stayed there a few times. The trail is just up the road from the hotel.

About 9yrs or so ago i use to guide tours down around the wagon wheel.

It got hectic at times with 30-50 riders a weekend. I don't do that anymore.

I haven't rode on the Hatfield trails since they took over a bunch of the back roads.

I ususally just stayed away from them, but i'm going to get my sticker soon.

I'm interested in going Phillip. Let me know and i could meet y'all down there if you don't mind another rider tagging along.

I guess i could ride either one. I haven't been on the Hat/Mc trails since they took them. We use to ride on them before they took them over alot.

I'll get me a sticker before i go so i'll be leagel on the Hatfield trails.

 

THAT'S GOOD LARRY,WE'RE GONNA HAVE A LOT OF RIDING THAT WEEKEND@BEGINING WEEK.WE HAVENT SET UP OUR MOTEL YET BUT WE WILL AT THE END OF MARCH.WE WENT RIDING TODAY I JUST PUT 27's ON MY SPORTSMAN 800(ITS A PIG).I HAD TO TRY IT OUT 10's ON THE FRONT AND 12's ON BACK.

 

Sounds like it'll go for sure with those tires on it.

I've been thinking about putting a bigfoot kit on my 450 Grizz.

I think it would take a lot of power from it if i do though.

I know you didn't hurt yours any, those 800's are beasts.

 

MY TIRES WORKED GREAT,I WAS AFRIAD OF THE STEERING BEING HARD TO TURN BEING 10in. WIDE.I'VE ALWAYS SEEN IF I BUMP MY TIRES UP 2 sizes I LOSE TOO MUCH POWER. MY 660 GRIZZLY LOSE TOO MUCH WITH 27's EVEN WITH A K@N FILTER.WELL ITS TIME FOR MY SUNDAY FIX (RIDE) TALK TO U LATER.
