Where are you located? The best thing to do may be to look into some of th local clubs such as NYTRO and Oswego County. I think Sullivan County was working on a trail system, trying o get something online to the public. There are also places near Bath and Watkins Glen.

I am also in Westchester and in the same boat. The bottom line is you have to drive. 2 hrs to Lost trails or Tower City in PA. If you want track time then you have to go to SO Jersey, PA or Walden in Orange County. I was going to try Brewster but I heard they cracked down in there last month. Plus, if I get my 12 year old son arrested my will kill me. lol

here are a few suggestions I have. I am the Reg 3 rep for NYSORVA that covers Sullivan, Delaware, Rockland, Orange Dutchess and Westchester counties. First, try to join or attend anything off road, financially or that your time will allow. Second, keep off Road business local if possible. i know where i live the NY dealers do not come close to PA pricing and i refuse to give them business if it will be like that. On the other hand for small items i use them. i try and always check locally before anything else. Are any of you guys attending Dirt Fest? Sullivan County has at least 6 events throughout the year going on.

SOME SULLIVAN COUNTY FACTS:

The Empire Trail Alliance just formed in Sullivan County as well and they are working on a permit style 20 - 50 mile loop. I have seen the trailhead and maps and it looks great!

Sullivan county ATV assn is a charity organization that donates money directly to sick children in SC. To date they have given over 125,000 back in 10 years. They do 3 or 4 Charity rides per year. 1 Winter, 1 Fall and usually 1 in between.

Smallwood Valley FD does a 30 mile run to raise money. SCATV hosts the trails and route as well as provides trail leaders etc.

NYATVonline.com is based out of Sullivan County. The office is in Fosterdale NY. They along with Pink Ribbon Riders from MI are hosting the 3 day Dirt Fest 2009 in Sullivan County. Fishers ATV World will be attending to film for a Sept episode on the Outdoor Channel. More info at Welcome to the Pink Ribbon Riders Site
