Hi Pa riders; Seems like Marienville is the hot spot to ride. After going there a couple times, I'm looking for some new riding areas in the western half of the state.
Also include areas from eastern Ohio. Please post areas that are legal. Also, can you camp there for a weekend of family fun?

I am from the Youngstown, Ohio area and have ridden Shenango - depending on how far you are away from this area, it may not be worth the trip. The Army Corp of Engineers runs the riding area and because of erosion and shore riding (it is adjacent to a resevoir) they have closed down a large portion of the area making it kinda small now. on Saturday July 17th, me and my riding buddies went down to Wellsville Ohio which is right on the Ohio/West Virginia line (right at the point where Ohio/PA/WV meet in the "little panhandle". We rode for about 6 hours and probably only got into 1/2 of the place!!! Has riding from easy to extreme! It's in the mountains so if you like hills this is the place. Email me for further, if you would like directions to this area that was very new to us and extremely entertaining.

EXtreme,
You might want to try out the ANF trail near Warren, Pa. The upper half is tight and technical. While the lower half is pretty much logging roads and such. There is something for every one up there.
You could try the state trail up near Renova, if you like hill climbs. This trail will keep you occupied all day. But be warned, you had better get a map for it. there are a lot of junctions and turn offs there. You just can't tell the players with out a map.

I have never rode at Wellsville myself, but I hear it's a popular place and I want to go there soon. I've heard that it is a fairly large area and the terrain includes creek beds, smooth hills, rough rocky hills, to some very hairy hills. Its in Wellsville, Ohio, off Route 7, right on the Ohio river, but I'm not sure of the exact location. If anyone knows of the exact location please let me know.

Jack, you'd better be safe than sorry...the rangers do often check the bikes and trail conditions. I've never seen them check sound but helmets and stickers are a must!
T-wolf, your right on the money. I've been emailing a couple of guys that rode there. Seems to be at the most southern exit for wellsville (3 exits)off route 7. Hear its best after a rain day cause of dust. email me and maybee we'll hook up a trip with the others!
