New Riding Area in PA
#1
Red and myself was in Pocono Mt this past weekend and while we were there we discovered a new riding area that just opened this spring for ATV's and bikes. It is located at Jack Frost Mountain on Rt. 940 just north from Interstate 80 and just East of Interstate 81. They are also going to have races there as well. They have put alot of money into this so far so hopefully it will give those riders that are not as fortunate as we are a chance to ride.

Just went to Carbandale last weekend. Its about an hour north of poconos RT 81 to RT6.Theirs hundreds of miles to ride and even a park and ride parking lot right off of RT 6 entering carbandale.Right next to five story coal pile.Jack and I rode from forrest city to carbandale about 100 miles and could have gone another two hundred milles but jack rolled his 450es end over end and snaped his leg bent up his racks and got a flat.(Went down coal pile in 5th gear DUMB *** could'nt slow down)Managed to get back to forrest city (50 miles) Got leg fixed up.Was told by locals their are better trails south of carbandale.Police don't care about quaders as long as you don't rip down the roads. It's like tourism up their. You can pull right into the gas station and top off then get right back on the trail. Two brothers pizza is a good lunch stop just pull right up and park. I parked right next to a police car. They were there having lunch.
Between forrest city and carbandale alot of rails to trails. After carbandale alot of coal piles take rail bed south follow trails they go on forever.
PS...cell phones work great on top of coal pile.Lights on for safty People ride verry fast around here and jumps are verry bigggggg

Some friends and I gave Jack Frost a try. The MX track was pretty good (if you want to practice jumping and stuff), with the exception of one of the axxhole workers with a cast trying to get everyone to try the tripples, wheather you were capable of a tripple or not. No concern for safety there. I guess his broken arm and riding around the area with no helmet was a good clue.
We moved onto the enduro track. This track is the rockiest piece of "you know what" to ride on. Bent rims, pinched tires, trashed skidplates and a-arms are the "norm" here. After paying to ride, then about $100 - $250 later to repair the damage from the rocks (we never even got out of second gear). We cut the enduro track short. We talked to guys that rode the ten mile rocky loop, and they said that it didn't get any better.
We went back to the mx track to try to get something out of our money. The dust on the mx track was so bad you could barely see where you were going, let alone set up for a jump.
MY prediction is that the worker axxholes taunting the riders to try stuff they are not ready for, will eventually get to one of the riders, and that rider will get seriously hurt, sue Jack Frost, then the track will close. They need to take a responsibility pill at Jerk Frost!!!
This is my warning to all of you.
Mick
The worst part of all is that I'm all for new ATV places to ride, then you come onto something like Jerk Frost. It will eventually do more harm than good to the sport of ATVing if the attitudes there don't change SOON!!
If anyone else has been there, let's hear it. Maybe I missed something.

Mick when we was up there they had a truck out watering the track for dust and we was informed that the tracks was not yet completed. They had to clean the stone and roots out of the track and do some leveling and grading. The people we talked to that came off the track liked it. I can't say what it is like because I was not out there.
Lets hope they remedy the problems in the near future.

I'm glad to hear that they are doing something about the dust and working on the track. I'm assuming the MX track, which was in pretty good shape when we rode it. I did like the MX track, just not the irresponsible workers and their lack of safety. They should take the ASI safety course, over and over, until they understand WHY safety is important.
Do you know if they are going to "fix" the enduro track? It was left in pretty bad shape from the previous race. Even though I did like the MX track, I have no plans of ever going back until the employee attitudes change, then I still doubt it. We went into the office to talk to someone in charge, but, all we got was an argument and frustration. I was starting to get upset and one of the riders I was with made me leave before I could talk to anyone important.
