Hey, is any one from southern Indiana? I live in Bicknell, near Vincennes. We ride at a place called Redbird near dugger. It's old coal mine ground. A hill riders dream. There is talk of it becoming Indiana's first state riding area. Time will tell but it's great Steve

Hey Sandman75

I live down in the west southern tip by Evansville. I have never rode Dugger but I have heard a lot about it. I was in a meeting 2 years ago in Indy with a group called DIRT, they where telling us that it would become a OHV park very soon, but it's been over 2 years now and still no OHV park. Anyway, I ride with some folks from Brazil, IN. They ride at dugger a lot, but I mostly ride at either Turkey bay in Kentucky or Bad lands in Attica, IN.

Hey gentleman
Nice to here from fello Indiana riders. There are actually several places to ride in In. and although some parts of White River are restricted you can ride out onto the sand bars and there are trails cut along side of white river for several miles. I live in colombus, IN and ride alot there along with Dugger and Laurol, but Laurol is kind of ate up. I also talked to a friend who lived here for quite a while and told me that you can still ride up on the North side of IN in the dunes. There are still places though small that you can ride up there. Let me know if anybody has any information on this area. I used to live 2 hours North of little Sahara Sand Dunes in Utah so I'm spoiled. About a 60,000 square acres of state park. Is there anything for dune nuts around here besides riding all the way up to Silver Lake in Michigan? Me and several others are planning a trip up there this summer. I currently ride a 250r and so do alot of my friends and if you want to hook up, I know about 30 other riders in about an hour radius from Columbus, IN south of Indianapolis that would love to ride on the weekends.

hey all,

i live in north west indiana and there are not too many places to ride up here. mostly private land. the dunes that were spoken of... there are 2 places to ride dunes. both are just ok, not too big and oh yeah, i dont think that it is really legal to ride we haven;t had any trouble. the one place is in michigan city, right behind the prison! the other is in miller/gary off of route 20 and 51. the last time we were up there we ran into 3 gary police officers on polaris atv's. we thought we were all going to jail then the one guy tells us to follow him to a really kick a$$ jump. i think thats one of the coolest gary cops around.

if anyone needs directions let me know and maybe we'll meet you up there.

c-ya,
steve

Hey man I got a couple of possible takers for the dunes in Indianna. ....How big is the dune area in acres? It would probably take us about 3 1/2 hours, but thats closer than 6 1/2 to Silver Lake.

i've never been good at estamating the size of land. the one area in michigan city is an old sand mine. the hills arn't too great but they do have some good trails. the place in gary has one good size hill and the rest is mostly trails. the entire area is all sand but only the one hill. i dont want you to think that it is something it's not. i'm not quite sure if i would drive 3 hours for it. if you do make sure you come during the summer so you can ride both places on one day. we have a great time out there. last year we went out there with 4 of us but, this year we now have 6 of us ,maybe 8. everyone is buying quads now it's pretty cool!

just let me know what you think.
