SO what type of ride are you expecting? Would it be one that I can do with my OEM Brute tires? Or are you guys planning on going mud swimming?

if it is mud swimming then it will be a short trip for my brother since he is on a z400, although he seems to make it through more mud holes than expected....of course he ends up bathing in ponds after.

There are ways around some of the mudholes on Cathole Road. There is also an upper trail and a power line trail that avoid most, or almost all of the deep ones. We just got used to pulling out the 2wds.

There has been only a couple times where I've seen the holes so bad that a 4wd either barely made it through or didn't make it through. One is on the Warming Hut trail that I rarely go down anymore and the others mostly have hard rocky bottoms so you don't sink too far. OEM tires are usually okay as long as they aren't almost bald.

I have never been up to that area, which side will give you the best and longest riding day? are there any scenic areas at both areas?

On the Cathole Road side there's a good sized loop that you can do about 18 miles or so just doing the loop. Good scenery from the cell tower hill. The trail starts right around where you enter the rough part of Cathole Road to park. Also a nice pond called Chapin Pond off the Cornish Turnpike.

On the Mica Mine side there are great views from the top of Arrowhead Mountain Ski Area and Dunn's Loop. Mica Mine also has a good view.

Was up there on Saturday and half of the mudholes on Cathole Rd. were dried completely up!!! I've never seen it so dry up there. There were a couple challenging spots but we got through everything we tried. My guess is you won't have too much of an issue unless rain really comes hard and often up there over the next couple weeks. Cornish Turnpike usually has headlight deep waterholes. They were either dry or had a little mud on the bottom with a puddle or two.

So for one of the area's you can park behind a burger king, I assume that lot will be big enough for a truck pulling an 18 foot trailer but does the other riding area have a parking lot big enough to maneuver around or do you park on the side of the road?

Sorry for all the questions, This place is a 3 hour drive from me so I want to know exactly what I am getting myself into before I drive up there.
