I saw someone on here the other day about some riding around the Shell **** area and was wondering about the area, how to get there and who to contact for permits and maps. Been to Chadwick and I like it but he said that area was a little less chalenging and my wife is interested in that. I would like some replies.

Contact the Cassville, MO Mark Twain Forest District in Cassville. They can provide you with a great map of trails in the Mark Twain Forest between Shell **** to just west of Roaring River State park. There are lots of points to put in on the trail system. The area covered by the system has to be 50x that of Chadwick.
If you like more remote (less people, more nature) trails than Chadwick, Shell **** and Cassville are are the best. I prefer these trails and their varieties to Chadwick hands down.

I am coming in for the weekend of June 8. My parents live in Forsyth, I was thinking about either Shell **** or Chadwick. Is anyone else going to be out there?

After reading the rules that were posted on the web site I think it would take a week to prepare an atv to ride on these trails. (slow moving vehicle sign, flag, registered vehicle)I will be going back up to Deepwater to ride in a couple weeks and would like to stop by these trails on the way. Is it as difficult to get a atv prepared as it sounds, or are the rules actually relaxed like they are at Deepwater, MO. Anyone have any pictures of the terrain from Chadwick, or Shell ****.

What trails are you referring to? I ride at Shell **** and Chadwick all the time, don't have a flag, etc., etc., and never have any issues. I've never seen anyone adhering to or enforcing any of the items you are referring to.
Riding in the above two areas, except for variances in traffic on the trails is no different than riding anywhere else I've ridden in the country... Arkansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, etc.
I thought flags were for dune riders. They'd be a pain on forest trails.
My guess is that those are standard items some bureaucrat slapped on the web site that means nothing to the park rangers.... who I also talk to on the trails from time to time.
