I completely agree. Trails are marked VERY poorly especially towards the monday creek area. My first time there I got completely lost and came very close to running out of fuel before I made it back to my truck. The maps are absolutely no good when you have no way of telling where you are on them.

Following the Main Corridor isn't too bad. It's the Dorr Run area that can be kinda tricky. Just remember, when in the DR area, follow the blue dots(on the orange diamonds) and you should be OK. The Purdum loop is marked with a brown dot, it's not too hard to follow. BUT..those other inner DR loops will get you all confusesd in a heart beat...at least they do me. a even when you follow the blue or orange or brown dot s it seems like i still get turned around. i thought those trail were going in a circle and brought you back to where you started but it doesnt seem to work that way . lol

Long Ridge is the worst of the bunch. ALL the trails seem to be marked the same! They all have the white dots on orange diamonds!
You'll be able to find your way around. Look at the map,on the M-C, you can't hardly get off trail. In D.R, the inner trails/loops can be confusing. I still fumble around and get lost half the time in L.R.
I find it easier to learn the trails by riding them a little slower than usual and, at every intersection, LOOK OVER your shoulder, to see what that intersection will look like, when you return in the opposite direction. Enjoy the Wayne!

We started our ride late in the afternoon this past Sat. We planned it that way so we could ride at night as well. Dorr Run may be confusing during the day but it is really wild in the dark! Due to a little mishap on the trail, my Eiger wasn't running too well. I began to wonder if we were going to get back to the car, so we ended up just hitting the road and taking it back to the parking lot. I'd like to try running from DR to New Straightsville and back some time in the dark. TRX450, have you done that before?

BK-- Done the run many times. It should take you about 2 1/2hr to go round trip from MONDAY CREEK to N. Strsvll., and back, in the DAYTIME, not sure of nite ride time.
Talk about confusing, try Long Ridge at nite, SCARY! Never done it at nite myself, but parts of L R are very very technical, and steep. I rarely ride at nite, just don't like it.
Not sure if I will go out this w.e.(if I go ,it'll be Sunday)As I am readying from the H/M oct 5th ride at Bear Wallow t.h.
Contact "engine" over in ATV TIME, he rides at nite ALL the time in WNF, I think he has some owl genes in him! LOL

We rode about 1/2 of the way in the dark this past Sat. It was dark before we got to the parking area at the concession stand coming back from New Str. It seems so different, even on the really familiar trails of the main corridor. Dorr Run was where we were planning on riding late into the night. We planned on staying on the blue dot trails so we couldn't get turned around. I would be real hesitant to try Long Ridge at night. It is easy to get turned around even in the daylight.
Somewhere close to Airplane Hollow around 6:30, I was avoiding another rider on a quick side trail that I thought was okay. Turned out it was off camber and slick. My rear tires are less than adequate worn out stock tires. Suddenly they were sliding around and I found myself in a slow motion roll over. I got out of the way but unfortuneately there was a treeless gully (which is probably why it was so slick) and nothing to stop the rolling Eiger. It flipped sideways 3-4 times and stopped upside down. When we tipped it back up it was almost unharmed. The bars were down but just needed adjusted. Even my extra light on my front rack was unharmed. It smoked really bad and barely ran for a few minutes. Finally got it running well enough to get it back up the hill and assess the damage. All I could find was a slight bend in the high cross bar on the rear rack! But I think the plug was half fouled from the oil which caused the smoke, it wouldn't run well on low rpms. Decided to get back to the car as quick as possible so as soon as we got to the road at end of Main Cor. we took the road to the parking lot. First time I have had a crash on an atv since '86! I'm just glad the Eiger and I came out unharmed.

I got one thing to say bout wnf. Unless you are really familar with the area i wouldnt go out there without my gps and extra gas. The last time we were out there the same thing happened to us. My 650 is one hungry quad and i was really sweating it out....Rob
