Hey all.
Just wanted to let you all know about a cool trail system in VA. It is called the South Pedlar ATV Trail System and it contains about 25 miles of trails that wrap around a couple of mountains. Make sure you bring your camera ( I brought mine but left it in the jeep ) because there are some awesome views! It is located close to Natural Bridge. email me if you want directions. Oh the park is cloed from Dec 2nd to April

Yeah it is run by the Department of Forestry I believe. It is $5 to park for the day. Well worth it!

Let me ask this. Do you have to have kids ride atv they are rated for or can my 9 year old ride her 250 trail blazer?

Hey! I just went back and read the rules and they say no "operators" under 12. You can't have a passenger either. If it means anything we didn't see anytype of law enforcement but I really wouldn't want to risk it

A nine year old on a 250 Trailblazer? Do the words child endangerment, social services or supervised visitation come to mind for anyone else?. Ok - so I've seen 9 year olds as big as any 16 year old - but they still have a nine year old brain and 9 year old decision making skills. My kids all ride ATV but they don't ride anything so big that it will push there entrails out their nostrils if it ends up on top of them. And.. my 13 year olds 90cc Sportsman has been on the same trails, mountains, rocks, and woods as my 500. Its all that she needs. My buddy brought his 9 year old son to my house instead of the hospital one year - after the kid had ran his (it only goes 30) snowmobile into a tree - busted all to hell, both the kid and the sled. I think dad needed a kick in the rear...... and the kid needed a doctor. Unfortunately, children don't have a good feel for measuring risk or forecasting outcomes.... that's what parents are suppose to do for them.

Its so nice how everyone stays on topic and never passes judgement on others on this forum....=[

Sounds like a cool place to ride!! What city is it in? I occasionally make trips from florida up to ohio, and would love to plan a few extra hours in each day to stop at cool riding spots. Helps to break up the monotony of the 18 hour drive, and I love seeing new places. Thanks for the tip TWO98.

Standing Up for what is right
Defending children from dangerous adults
Protecting with all resource from evil
and never ever ever giving up
Is my job,
my responsibility
and my God given role
as A man.
Its yours to.

its not your job or mine to tell someone how to raise their kids. If you think its your god given role I suggest checking into mental evaluations. If someone else's kids are imposing immediate danger to you or yours, it's reasonable to politely comment to the parents your concern....not reasonable to pass judgement on FishballzRFoul without knowing the people involved or their level of supervision.

Lightman -
I don't think you could be more wrong about anything so important in your entire life.
Yes! yes it is our job to protect children when they are being put in harms way. If someone thought it was ok
for there kids to play on the freeway - would that be OK with you as long as it was their kids and not yours???
If a parent thought that child pornography was acceptable to them - would you support their doing that?
Would you stand aside and let bad things happen to innocent children?
Look - I'm a republican conservative male - I beleive in individual rights. I'm, a skydiver for crying out loud! I know risks - they are carefully calculated. Foolishness is uncalculated risk. I do not believe in selfishly standing by and watching parents put their children in situations that do and will cause serious injury or even death. I've been on the trails where kids have had "accidents" - it aint pretty. And then the parents stand around defending themselves saying "I told him not to go so fast" and the truth is their kids feet couldnt reach the floor boards or it took a bigger hand then what the kid has to apply the brakes hard enough. I will not cowardly avoid being attacked by someone who thinks they have the right to parent away thier childrens safety. Little kids on big quads is wrong - dead wrong in some cases. I stand by my previous posts 100%. Maybe FishballzRFoul is doing everything right - maybe he isn't. My post makes him think about that - yours does what?
