Flambeau river state forest questions
#2
Nice trail. Pretty much all sand. Winding trail through the woods. And if you want to get a taste of a little bit tougher trail, (but in my opinion more fun), you can hook up with the Dead Horse Run Trail right from The Flambeau State Trail. In fact I'm heading to those 2 trails this year along with a few others in Wi. You wont be dissapointed. Any ?s you can e-mail me also and I can give you some specifics on either one of these trails.
By the way Blackballed if you see this post I'd love to ride the Dead Horse with you if you can spare a day or 2. I shot you an E-mail, didn't hear back, so I wondered if you fell off the side of the Hatfiled trail and died.

The Tuscobia trail is the old rail road bed, the Falmeau State trail is actually an atv trail. And I agree the rail rd trail is boring but it connects bothe The Flambeau State Trail and the Dead Horse.

there is a trail system east of park falls that hwy 70 runs thru in the national forest that is called
the flambeau trail system. this is a very nice trail system that is rated number 14 in the u.s.
there is a water hole half a mile long on trail 101. i would highly recommend this trail system
and the dead horse trail is only about 45 minutes away so you could also ride that one
while you are in the area check out parkfalls wi. on the internet.

I ran the Flambeau trail and the Dead Horse trail three years ago. Both trails are a lot of fun. We come about twenty feet from a bear on the Flambeau trail, I wasn’t quick enough with the camera. The Dead horse had a lot of rocks and mud holes, I heard they filled a lot of them in. I hope to make it back there this summer.
