Default Mid Missouri Trail ride

Haven't found any good legal spots, Hunt Midwest has a ton of trails but you take a chance. Good place to paintball though. I heard of a park that used to be open somewhere in town but now is closed because of all the stolen cars that had been abandoned in it. If you know of any good places i am interested. I am usually forced to go back to Iowa to ride as I don't want to explore Missouri alone. I have seen quite a few mentions of a track south of Grandview but i am not sure if it is bikes only or not. some have said it is justa race track. I like farting around on the tracks with my buddies back home but I have a scrambler and it is prettyy obvious even a 300 Ex can wip me on a track. It's like taking a hummer to a dirt race car track.

We just got back from Chadwick, had a great time. You'll like Grindstone too, Chris and John are both really nice. The track is always well maintained, theres not alot of trails but the track makes up for it. They also have a kids track now, really nice if you have young kids. Stop by my site and post your rides, there are a bunch of us in Independence and around that get together most weekends to ride somewhere. We're planing on going to Perry on Sept. 18th or the 19th if your interested.

Chadwick is a nice place if you like trail riding, really huge and long trails, they are torn up though through the years, and there are some there that I took my sportsman through that I really don't want to try again, especially on my Scrammy, but for the most part it is a great riding area for a couple of days.

Being down there twice in the past month there was only one black trail that we couldn't get thru. I'd say 95% of the trails we in great shape compared to all the other places that we ride. I ride my banshee and didn't have any problem on the trails.

Did you go on all the difficult trails fender? Yes you can make it through them but they sure do get difficult, and the last time I was down there they were almost like rock stairs to climb, and they were steep rock stairs. By black trails I imagine you mean the least difficult trails, as they are marked with black if I remember on the trail guide and signs. The most difficult though are pretty hairy from what I remember though, but it has been a while since I went on the harder ones(couple years or more) so they may have gotten better.

The black trails are the hardest ones...there were some stair climbs like you described but they weren't too bad. We made it to one area that was real bad, one of our group made it down the hill only to find that it was impassable due to washout. Then we found that he bent a tie rod too. It took 4 of us to get him out, thats the hardest trail that I've seen there so far. I'm sure there are some pretty hairy trails there, we had our wives with us and we tend to keep them on the easier trails. When it was just the guys thats when we hit the black trails. I'd say that we rode on probably half of all the trails out there so far. The Green and blue trails we fairly easy, noone had any problems on them. The worst part of the trip was when a friend of mine was pitching his tent, at 3am I might add, and disturbed a nest of yellow jackets. Needles to say we all got stung a few times. Other than that it was a great time. I've always heard good and bad about Chadwick but seeing for myself theres something for everyone there. I was concerned about taking the banshee, so I bought full skids for it, because it is rocky there but its a really nice place to go and ride, also seeing as it was Labor Day weekend it was packed at the campground but we hardly ever passed anyone on the trails. Once the guys got on the black trails we didn't see anyone. They seem to be taking care of the green and blue trails, every know and then you'll see some washouts, but over all its in nice shape. We'll be going back again. You'll have to come and ride with us next time crpadiem1.
