Default Rhino snorkel materials help

I just bought a 10' section of 2-1/2" flex hose for my air box snorkel. You can by it in 5' increments or a full roll of 25'. Part # is 5475K87, 5474K86 is the a 2" ID bought it at McMaster-Carr, www.mcmaster.com. Grainger also carries it but have to buy full rolls thru them. The stuff I bought is pretty flexible, they sell other types of flex tubing that are more rigid if thats what you need(each item has pretty good description of it bend radius and durability), just look thru the few pages they have with the flex tubing on there online catalogue. Default Rhino snorkel materials help

Les, I live in Phoenix. Good luck with your project.
ProEMTPFF, There's a few different types and reasons to snorkel. Do a google search for "yamaha rhino noise" and a link comes up for a site www.rc-trucks.org/yamaha-rhino-accessories.htm, it has a flex tube snorkel to eliminate engine noise, it's not the best idea if your looking for a water tight up high fresh air intake. You can also try www.rhinoforums.net, it's temporarly down do to a dns problem but should be fixed in a day or two, it the best site for rhino info and it mostly a bunch of us local guys from the PHX area. Good Luck. Rich

the 2.5 inch hose exactly as speced out . I am disappointed, my 450 runs
like crap. how are you doing with yours

We'll I got the hose(2-1/2" size) and got everything apart and then realized that the 660 engine doesn't have the rear motor housing/console clearance like the 450cc engine does. I could get it to fit/work but I'm not looking to cut up my console to make it fit.
If anyone wants to buy my 10' section of hose I'll sell it for $30. I will say that the hose from McMaster-Carr is really heavy duty and super flexible. It's definately not a cheap plastic type shop vac hose which is what I was expecting.
Bucky, what's going on with your running issue. You may just need a simple carb adjustment. Rich

I dont know whats wrong , when in wet type of weather it misses and seems
to have a lose of power. I dont know whether to pull the hose out or mess with
it some more.
was it the console or the air intake that needs trimed ?

There's no room for the tubing to go out the top/back of the engine and drop around the cvt cover area, the 660 has all sorts of plastic ducting and such and the engine cover fits like a glove no room for anything. The 450cc engine is wide open in that area.
Does the engine run fine at idle ? and acts up on accell or running top speed ? Either way it sounds like a simple carb adjustment, find a good shop that can fine tune your engine/carb thru all rpms with the set up and you should be fine. Rich
