HELP, My 2006 Rhino is fading its Forest Green Color real bad. Can anyone help me out here. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] Has Yamaha had any recall on the 2006 Model Rhino ?

Try some Plexus plastic polish, or there are plastic renew kits out there.

 

if you just want it for looks every now and then i just use some Armorall on my big bear brings the color back for awhile, but being a 2006 thats pretty new for it to be fading unless its been out in the sun for awhile. You can ask your local dealer about any recalls

 

The problem with Armorall is it sucks the oil out of it. If you don't keep applying it your plastics will dry out and look like crap. Use a plastic polish that is oil based.

 

My 06 Rhino is fading really badly, but I leave it out in the sun a lot and just figured that was the price I pay. I have an old 87 Moto 4 that has always been kept in a garage and it still looks nice.

Will be interested in any responses, but honestly I don't much care what my Rhino looks like as long as it mechanically sound which it is. I sure do love my Rhino.

 

yea i didnt know about armorall taking out the oil i knew it was just a quick fix, Ill try some of that plastic polish out thanks stoopidbot

PS: will that plastic polish work better than armorall on interiors of cars too?

 

I haven't tried it, I would try a small hidden area first but I would imagine. I get the stuff from the local bike shop. It is called "Plexus".

I happen to have a set of blue plastics for a 06 Rhino 660.(not faded at all) Minimal damage, normal wear and tear. Just minor scratches. I removed them to put on a Full Bore body kit. Make me an offer and their yours. If anyone is interested, I'll try to get some shipping info.

I buy mine from the local bike shop. Nasa and the Air Force uses this stuff on their planes too.

Don't laugh to darn hard, the torch works. Keep it moving as fast as possible. It will restore your color. I just tried it.
