Default Rhino Oil Filter.

Are any of you using a screw on filter other than the Yamaha oil filter, such as something from the auto store?

I always use Yamaha brand products on my Rhino and Grizzly, but I believe there was a thread on Grizzly Central not long ago on this subject and a guy had a list of oil filters and their effectiveness. Yamaha was rated a being good, but there was another one or two that were better and cheaper.

I read a post on another forum that all grizzlys and rhinos and I believe kodiaks take the same oil filter. But dont take my word for it. I DO know my grizz 400 and rhino 450 is the same one.

08 Rhino 450, yamaha oil filter number: 5GH-13440-20-00
08 Rhino 700, yamaha oil filter number: 5GH-13440-20-00
06 Rhino 660, yamaha oil filter number: 5GH-13440-00-00
06 Rhino 450, yamaha oil filter number:5GH-13440-20-00

07 Grizzly 660, yamaha oil filter number: 5GH-13440-20-00
06 Grizzly 660, yamaha oil filter number: 5GH-13440-00-00

It looks like 07 was the year the part number changed and I will need a different one than what you guys came up with. The new part number might work, but I am unsure how to tell unless somebody has both machines and could check, what do you think "tripleR"?

I haven't changed the oil in my Grizzly yet, but will check. Part numbers don't always mean anything as Toyota changed part numbers on their oil filters on Camrys and their pickups quite a few times, but they all fit. I finally quit asking for part numbers and just told them what I had.

K&N website lists the KN303 that "neparhino" listed as fitting all 660 Rhinos. So if that is the case, the others listed should fit as well, theoretically anyways.

That should be the case because the 07 Rhinos were simply built using parts on hand and the Rhino engine did not undergo any changes until the introduction of the EFI 700. So since the Rhino and Grizzly 660's had the same engines all will fit while all 700's whether Rhino or Grizzly will be the same. I will need two different filters, thanks.
