Raptor Bolt on swing arm extension
#21
Thanks for the reply on the turning radius and stability of the extension. Went to Sandlake last summer, completely stock, now running yoshi comp, no lid, GYTR kit, 160-165, 12 tooth front sprocket and alittle more experience. Hopefully I will have an easier time with some of the holes.

I adapted the stock skid plate to my JTM extension. It was very easy. All that was required was to remove the two humps in the middle of the plate. Then I redrilled the holes and used some bolts and adel clamps to secure the back of the skidplate to the lower rear round spacer on the extension. Looks almost factory. I havn't ridden my bike yet, I just got my 727 up and running yesterday. But the extension fit well and looks very durable.

The only bolt on extension for the raptor is the 4.5" made by JTM. It's not possible to make a bolt on extension for the raptor because the bearing carrier has to be moved behind the swingarm, and to successfully clear it, it needs to be 4.5"

These things look like string cheese. I went the cheap way once and bought a front end lowering kit for my raptor. One small dune jump at silver lake and my frame was in pieces. You get what you pay for. If you dont want to spend the money for a new swingarm, then consider having tubing welded in by a professional. usually can be done much cheaper than a new arm. I think jiggle had this done. jiggle racing I am currently looking into a new swingarm, but I will be investing in a little more durability. JMHO, if you are happy with yours, thats great too.

The JTM extension is a very well constructed unit that I'm sure is stronger than the factory swingarm and carrier. The main reason I chose it over having the swingarm extended was that the JTM has the added benefit of being easily removed for woods or MX racing. The JTM gives you the best of both worlds.
