Kodiak 450 coughs and sputters HELP!!!
#1
Kodiak 450 has SAGS (severe accute grizzly sydrome)
Last weekend I was out riding my 450 Kodiak and it was running fine. A while ago my cousin and I were riding through a 1 1/2 ft water/mud hole. Long story short I hit it too fast and the belt slipped and it coughed and sputtered. This persisted even after we let it idle for 5 minutes and drained the belt case. Anyways last sunday when I did a bit of a powerslide turn around on gravel it sputtered and bogged. I limped it back and checked it out. Changed the spark plug and no help.
I think water might be in the gas causing this. I runs fine until 1/2 throttle.
Carb problem?
bad gas?
Thanx in advance

umm, they sell these screen like things, that you toss in your gas tank they maybe 15 bucks, they take water out of your tank, you could try that, have you checked your airbox, exaust, or your belt case snorkel, look it over there could be some water you've missed, if its coughing and sputtering then its probalby isnt your CVT.

Sounds like you got a little water in the carb, even a few drops can cause problems,it won't mix with the gas, and rolls around in little droplets, and can plug the tiny holes in a jet or orafice. Your best bet is pull the carb, spray out all the passages with carb cleaner, and see how it runs after that.
