Has anyone seen the new yamaha high performance quad in dirt wheels magazine? Is supposed to be a 4 stroke with large displacement to compete against the new bombardier ds650. Anyone has any idea what displacement will it be?

I heard a 660cc

yeah sounds like a nice machine, but all i gotta say is....BANSHEE

 

if this quad is in fact the 660cc engine then the banshee will be history in a year or two. hell it may even put me in the market for a sport quad

 

Hey Bud sorry to say but your Banshee will probably be replaced with the new quad Yamaha is working on.
Banshee sales have been slipping the past couple of years. The new way for sport quads are 4 strokes. SORRY

 

I talked to my dealer today. He says there will a 660cc yamaha being tested right now, probably to be sold next year. He said he thinks that the banshee's 350 2 stroke motor will be replaced by the YZ426 4 stroke. Also, Suzuki is coming out with a 400cc quad that should be released next year as well as (MAYBE?)a sport or high performance kawasaki 4 stroke. i'm checkin back with the dealer next month and he should know more facts on them.

 

ummm...well i guess a 660 four stroke is cool. all i have to do is have my toomey banshee ported, and i can smoke that too.

two strokes for me, please...are you listening, yamaha? hordes and hordes of banshee owners do not want to be betrayed by being forced to ride a dog-*** four stroke after years of thrilling two stroke twin power.

 

Come on Screamer. Get real. The four stroek revolution is on. If you think your Banshee is bad enough, race me tonight, you are only 17 miles from me if you think the 4 strokes are worth your 2 stroke mind.

 

hate to say it but this might be better than a banshee.Yamaha is trying to make a more high performance quad than the banshee
