Start the Raptor in Neutral. The starter gears are one-way. Anyone that has ever started a Rappy will tell you the clutch sticks and the bike lunges forward. If it doesn't start and rolls back it could damage the starter gears. My Wife's 03 will do it every time! Now if I can just get her to put it in neutral

To get it to start only in neutral, but also be able to still use the start in gear feature when I need it, this is what I did.
I got a parking brake block off plate and a new clutch lever so I had to either just unplug the parking brake connector and plug the clutch sensor wires together (then it will start in any gear without the clutch pulled) or figure something else out.
What I did was unplug the parking brake sensor and tape it up good. Then for the clutch switch, I unplugged that. Normally, you would plug the male end into the female end and be done. Then it would start in any gear without the clutch pulled. I didn't want that. I got a waterproof switch and rigged up a bracket for it that is mounted up on the headlight support bracket under the fender. I spliced that switch into the "start in gear" circuit by plugging it into the male and female connectors.
Now when I want to start in gear, I flip the switch under the fender and it starts right up. Otherwise, I leave the switch in the open position and then it will only start in neutral, clutch pulled or not. I wanted to keep the start in gear feature in case I get stuck on a hill or something and need to start in gear but didn't want it to be able to start in gear without the clutch pulled in. Works like a champ.

a lot of probs with the one ways is with jetting. if it is too lean it can cause damage...if you have the idle to low it can damage if it stalls...that is the nasty noise when it stalls besides the decompression......
I gotta try this on my buddies tho...a rubicon u say ehh?
