I think Polaris actually beat Yamaha to the punch with "predator". Polaris was very smart when they applied for patents and trademarks while building the machine. The Predator name would fall naturally into Yamahas way of naming. Sounds to me like the name was stolen and they couldn't decide on anything else,... orrr, it really is a pure race breed machine like the YZF 450. I made the quote back sometime before the Polaris Predator was released, that I thought Yamaha would build the YFZ 450 Predator. That just sounds more natural than Polaris Predator 500,... even now that I just bought the Polaris. I agree with BlaSteRidr, Prowler sounds like the next best option.

Is anyone else EXTREMELY surprised at the retial price??? I guess I am not as disappointed as I thought I would be that Yammie released this machine after I bought the Pred.
