Default what are the problems with the raptors

i am debting to get a z400, kfx400, or a raptor 660r. since i have to take out a loan i might better get the best so i'm leaning towards the raptor but i just want to check and see what the problems are with each machine. i mostly like the raptor because of its speed and power over the other two.
thanks,

Need,

Before you make this choice you need to ask yourself what kind of bike you need or want for the type of riding you plan to do. A comparison between the z or kfx 400 and the raptor is like comparing a camaro to a viper. If you plan on doing alot of hard riding requiring lots of torque and speed, then you would love a raptor and be dissappointed in the 400. However, if you are just buying a sport bike for the comfort, and maybe want a little speed now and then, you would be much better suited to the 400. Just be aware that a Raptor requires a much more aggressive riding style due to the huge amount of torque and low end power. Both are nice bikes, just very different in their own right.

I have an 02 Raptor and an 00 400ex. Previous comments on riding styles and what you want to do with it is right on the money. Regarding problems: new tranmission on the 02 Raptor, 3rd gear split in two, probably a bad heat treat and boogered up a few more gears. No problems with the 400ex although its the wife's and barely ridden. If you like power, the Raptor is superior in my opinion. I would buy the suzuki 400 over the honda. Good luck!

the kind of riding i do is everything and anything with alot of power, speed, jumping, hillclimbing, mudding, riding in the snow, racing on trials (this i can do with the raptor easily i grew up on 3 wheelers so i have great balance and stuff on tight trials), racing on straight stretches, oh yeah gotta have lots of low end torque, i want to put 22 inch tires on the machine i get i hope they fit on these machines cause they fit on my blaster, as u can see i want to do everything with eass, i like my blaster but it feels like a little toy. and yes i have riden the raptor so i know what i'm in for with that but i haven't riden the 400s.
