better to wait for an '05 YFZ450???
#1
I really want a YFZ, but I just don't think it is worth it to get an '04 model. You know, being a first year Raptor owner and all, I'm just waiting for the usual problems to start. I wouldn't be surprised if other people are waiting a year to buy one, too.
Also, the ATVA changed the Pro Production rules at the last minute making it legal to use a full 450cc displacement. I am betting for '05 Yamaha will bump the YFZ up to a full 450 and also fix all the minor (or major) issues that are bound to surface.
Any thoughts???

I have no choice but to wait. No funds and next years models won't be a guaranteed purchase for the same reason. I'd love to get one for my 12 and 13 year old sons to tear it up on. The 12 year old wants to race MX and this would be the quad to do it on.

Hey Alaska,
Looks like I'm getting the first one that comes into the state. I wish I had the patients to wait but I just can't do it. LOL I took a chance on getting the DodgeRam Hemi in the first year and had great luck with that so far. Might as well keep the luck going! I think this is going to be a solid quad anyway......

You may think twice about the fisrt year Yamaha bull.
The problem with the 01 Raptor was where...thats right the motor
and the YFZ is not brand new
its been around for awhile and its been tweake and the kinks are worked out.
I don't see anything wrong with this quad.

I also heard that the displacement was pushed up to 450cc. I also want the 450, but will wait for the simple fact of the 01 gears on the raptor. I have a hard time getting excited about a quad I have never driven, hopefully someone in my neighborhood get's one for me to ride.
