Try KMS for your kit. Their turbo system is $3600, but it also includes a fuel injection conversion kit. According to the KMS people I've talked to, their turbo system will support up to 360 horsepower. Also, I don't see an aftermarket rod in your list. According to all the engine builders I've talked to, the stock rod will not hold up for any length of time past 60RWHP. I went with a Carrillo in mine just for that reason. My next big investment for my Rappy will probably be the KMS kit. www.kmsturbo.com

RaptorAZ,
Are those people @ KMS all there?? I spoke with them at the ASA show a few weeks back and they swore to me that their turbo kit for the 400ex was the best 40 hp for the money. [$3000 +]. When I told them I got 43 for about half that they basically called me a liar. Didn't seem they were ATV enthusiast's, more like automotive enthusiast's trying to make money in the ATV market. Anyways, just thought I'd pass it on.

Hey Air...
I would say that +6 would be pleanty on any swing arm unless you are going to be doing hill climbs. I have a +6 on mine now and its hard to get it to hook up at all on level ground. I can sit and roast the tires on black top just by dropping the hammer on it. It will hook up like mad if you start up the side of a moutain (it transfers the weight to the back tires).
As for the turbo... I think the turbo and alky will be my next investment on my quad!
(provided I dont roll it and have to rebuild before that)

I would say go with Nitrous Oxide instead of a turbo. This comes from a few years of experience putting turbochargers and blowers on street/strip cars. The reason I say this is that, a decent turbo setup will include an intercooler - otherwise you are really pushing the limits of detonation, etc. because of high IATs (intake air temps).
On a car it's not too difficult to find space for a front-mount intercooler. On an ATV? has to be interesting! I haven't done ANY research on ATV kits, but I'd think you could definitely get the same HP with less investment and tuning hassle bu running Nitrous. Just my $.02. Although it would be fun to do EFI on an ATV. We run Speedpro/FAST, Gen 7 DFI, and AEM computers on our street/strip cars. EFI tuning is a blast... but I would think a turbo/intercooler on an ATV would add so much weight that it woud almost certainly be better to go with nitrous.
who on here has experience with either? I'd like to hear more...
