Custom Axis
#1
Well, I had my mind made up to buy the Elka rear shock then a friend told me to buy the Axis. He said the Axis is only a single rate but will ride much better than the Elka dual rate. Is this true? I want another opinion. I know this horse is getting old but this is a big decision and I don't want to mess it up. Thanks.

I have been emailing both companies. Axis said that they suggest their Single rate compression adjustable for the raptor. The Axis guy said that the Elka SSD will cause the shock to bounce on the bottom stop making it very bouncy on small bumps. Also, he(Axis guy) said that the single rate compression adjustable will give 1" more travel over the single rate compression and rebound adjustable. Is that 1" worth losing the ability to adjust the rebound?

Thanks for the help guys! I know a lot more about shocks now. I can't say I know which one to go with though. I guess I will go for the best and get Axis. I will tell all about it after I put it on and hit the trails.
