Also - do you "have" to buy a pipe too? I mean can you get the same results from just the header pipe?

From what I have seen the Sparks full x6 system gives the best performance. Craycraft racing can get you a drag pipe by MBRP That suppose to give around 5 more hp than any other pipe but this is a drag racing type pipe that has no silencer. If you intend to continue trail riding I would stick to pipe with a silencer but if drag racing is all you will be doing I would like to try the drag pipe just to see if it would pick me up anymore than the Sparks pipe which so far has been the pipe to have for me. if i were you i would get the FULL exhaust system with a prodesign pro flow air intake and a k&n air filter(which you will need to jet ur carb when you get ur pipe) do that so you will get a big horsepower gain all at once instead of gradually increasing and not noticing it. you know what i mean. for the header i dont know. maybe the fmf powerbomb header. but i would make all my performance mods match with a company that has every thing like trinity racing.com, ct racing.com. GO TO DIRTWHEELS.COM THEY HAVE A RAPTOR PIPE SHOOT OUT WHICH TELLS YOU HOW MUCH POWER EACH PIPE HAS,HOW LOUD, AND HOW MUCH. WHEN YOU GO TO THE SITE GO TO MACHINE TESTS OR TESTS AND LOOK FOR YAMAHA RAPTOR PIPE SHOOT OUT.

 

I think that pipe shootout was for the slip-on not the whole system.

I don't think the dirtwheels pipe shootout was worth the paper they had printed it on. Don't trust those numbers, they are not correct. Go through and search this forum about it, there's been many discussions on that shootout.
