My interests are kind of fading from the drag racing side of quads and leaning more towards the utility and trail riding side. I went down to southeastern OK with my dad and found some pretty good fishing places way back in the woods so I'd like to get a utility so I can haul around a small 2 man bass buster boat. lol Funny how our interests can change once you reach 30. LOL

I just finished a 686 Rapy yesterday, with white Bros cam, Springs, Titainium retainers, FMF, moderate port and polish. It made 48.6 HP at the wheels(thats about 60-61 at the crank shaft)

dynoguy - was there something wrong with the dyno you used to get your HP #? 48 seems AWFULLY low for a 686 rappy, actually your about 10 HP below average. Are you sure you got everything right here.

That's rear wheel HP!
That's 11.5 more then a KFX 700
That's 21.5 more then a Sportsman 700
I haven't had a stock Rap on the Dyno yet
Closeset was stock with FMF, Uni and 10.5:1 Wiseco. @ 37HP

I think you should be in the mid to upper 50's at the rear wheel. JMO

LOL ya ok. that would be 70-75 at the crank!
This is a trail machine, running on pump gas.
The 2mm over (686)is only a 4% increase in CC's.
With the extra frictional and enertia losses, there is really only about 3.5% (1.2hp)increase in power from the overbore.
Anyone that is telling you they can increase HP by 60%-80% (from 32-34 to 55-60HP) by porting and cam on an engine that has decent port flow and camshaft to start with, well you probably shouldn't be listening to them.
I could make higher peak numbers, but lower rpm numbers would drop.
Happy roosting!

I quote airraptor from another thread.

"here are the numbers i know of
i got 58 out of my old one trinity
bigbubba got 58 craycraft
14mins got 67 craycraft
rob johnson got 69 out of his trinity
king raptor got 60 out of his old 686 trinity
there are others but not sure but it seems
that the average is 58-63hp range which is good for a 4 stroke"
