Banshee Rear Hubs
#1
I recently purchased a 1994 Banshee from a guy but the rear tires were badly wore. I had a set of better rims that I had off of a 1990 Banshee that I had previously. So I just had new Turf Tamers put on the better 1990 rims and went to put them on today and lo and behold, the hub that is on the 1994 is way smaller than the bolt pattern that is in the 1990 hubs. It appears (because it is hard to get in there and measure) that the bolt pattern on the 1994 is approximately 4 1/2 inches and the bolt pattern on the 1990 rims is about 6 1/4 inches. Now I have brand new tires on rims that won't fit. Does anyone have some rear hubs with the 6 1/2 bolt pattern that they don't want an arm and a leg for or any other ideas what happened? I can't drill the 1990 rim for the 4 1/2 bolt pattern because the bolts all fit inside the center hole. Any help would be appreciated. Thx in advance. Dean

I can tell you exactly what happened. Yamaha Switch the pattern for 89' and 90' then switched back to the smaller pattern for the rest. One hint, if you can find an old triz they use the same hubs as you. A friend has a set laying around, but a stud is broken, and not sure if he would sell. We both have two sets of hubs, so when we change tires you just unbolt the hub bolt and don't have to mess with the 4 on the wheel. Later.
