i just got a 2002 raptor and i was wondering what some simple upgrades were, i would also like to know what kinds of upgrades people commonly do to their raptors for trail riding.

if you are in rocky terrain, throw those stock tires in the shed.
throw a slip-on muffler on it, and open the airbox, may require jetting.
the rap is very choked when stock. youll have a new quad after you do this!

also, make sure you get a pro-flow, whether it has a K&N or foam. Stock airbox is junk.

 

For trail riding, holeshot xct r-22-9-11, f-23-7-10 for ground clearance,12 tooth sprocket, skid plates(front to back).

 

get rid of the airbox and add a slip on at the same time. Then you only have to jet once. Don't forget the graphics

 

So just a slip on? No head pipe needed?? From what to what? As far as the jetting goes,

It depends what you want to do... the slip-on and pro-flow are the easiest mods to do for big power gains. Get a full system for more ponies, but it costs more.

 

Pete at Powroll advised me to not worry about a head pipe unless I went into the engine..so I didnt!
may have to do with altitude, i dont know. but racing the kid with a full yoshi, we were dead even every time....
