Banshee or Predator?
#1
Hello,
I sold my warrior last year and I have the bug to pick up a new toy , So I'm tore between getting a banshee ($6699 new) or ($7699 new). I want to keep it under 8g when I'm done so that is kind of my limit. Now I ride alot of cutlines with some mud and alot of gravel pit, with the occasional big leaps too
Now my brother is selling his kodiak for a new yzf450 quad ($9799 new), and I want to be able to run with him would the Banshee with a few mods be able to do this in a reliable fashion?
Bubba
By the way I live in canada so that is why the prices are so high

if i was you i would go with the predator they are the top performing quad out there right now. i know this from many test that have been done be for. but the banshee with mods. should do what you want it to do. relieabiltey on the other hand is different story thro.... long as you keep it clean. and in tip top shape you should be all right.

Lets see: wrong, wrong and wrong. Do you even have any idea what you are talking about? No where near 500 pounds, just a few pounds more than a raptor. Tipsy???? A trait known to belong to the raptor. If you're gonna offer an opinion, at least make it a good one.
If you want an opinion, there are plenty of posts on here and other forums regarding the Predator. There is a website dedicated to the predator, it's something like predator owners dot com. There is not one owner that doesn't love the machine. There are a few that have had first year production issues, but normally these have been minor. I have a had couple of things fixed by the dealer. But I am real happy with the way the machine runs, handles, steers and it climbs so well. It is not a wheelie monster, which is good, cause I don't really want to do any. It puts the power to the ground so well, which is one reason it whups up on stock raptors. Another reason for our grumpy friend above. If you bought the Pred and put on a pipe and jet kit, you would be a VERY happy rider. There is just starting to be a big aftermarket of things for it, so it would be a fine time to buy one. I'd highly recommend it. I love mine.

yeahhhhhh... the predator is the "top performing quad out there" ummmmm, living under a rock are we?? Have you heard of a yamaha yfz450.
Maybe one of the better performers, but certainly not TOP!! They are heavy, they ARE NO FASTER then a raptor, they may AS tipsey as the raptor, and as far as going to the dunes......get ready to have your A$$ spanked by an 87-04 banshee.
"top performer" yeahhh right!!

-as for the original question this poor fellow had..... I would go with the yfz450, if you want to keep up with your brothers yfz450. If you do any of the same mods to the banshee, that you do to the yfz450, the 450 is still going to win. Unless you want to just want to go overboard with engine mods.
Stock for stock, people have been beating banshee's. Stock yfz450 vs. piped and airbox moded banshee, the yfz450 still wins. Unless you have motor mods done to a banshee, your brother will spank you.
The yfz450 4-stroke, will be more reliable then the 2-stroke banshee. 2-strokes are fun, I have had a banshee and a cr250, but when compared to a 4-stroke for reliability, hands down, the 4-stroke is more reliable.
