When someone comes to my home and enters through the front door, the first thing they see is a framed picture of that little girl holding the flag. It is on my entry wall. It is better than words. It has been there for years and there it will stay.

For my entire life my grandfather raised the flag at his home every morning and took it down every night for 40+ years. It was folded perfectly and placed in a wood box at night. When he was still at his home but unable to do it, my mother drove an hour each way to raise the flag and take care of him. When he passed away, the neighbor took over and kept it at 1/2 mast for a month. My mother kept the home for over a year and the neighbors raised the flag every day until the new owner tore down the house and built a new one. He kept the original flag pole, has a flag, and had a plaque made honoring my grandfather. I drive by every so often and it is always waving.
