Default Aux power source for a Raptor

anyone hooked up a cigagrette lighter style aux power source on a Raptor? If so, what did you use? Just one of the $10 kits from Wal Mart?

Where did you mount it? What about fuses, relays etc?

I need one for my GPS

I got one that came with a 12volt impact wrench that I use to plug in my impact gun to take my wheels off. I got it from Harbor freight tools. You can stuff it in the seat or mount it somewhere if you were to leave it on there. I am sure an auto parts store will carry one.

The walmart outlet should come with a fuse. I dont think you need a relay.

Possibly you could get a DR D reverse lever and then replace the stock lever with your new outlet.

Go to a boat dealer or somewhere that carries boating supplies and get one that's made of stainless steel or plastic. The $10 plugs that Walmart sells will rust too much to use in very short order. You may pay $10 more but you'll only have to pay once.

I agree.. sounds good

I'll check out the others too. I guess my main question was, just a regular extra outlet with long wires will do. I could put it under the seat too.. good ideas

I got my GPS mount ordered

I have a Magellan 330.. about 3 years old. Great GPS

I only use the RAM mounts.. they are great! And, you can get extra parts so you can use them on more then one bike or in your vehicle. I get my parts from www.cycoactive.com , a bike shop in WA. There is another GPS thread on here where someone posted a link to some site in AZ, their prices were a few dollars cheaper, but Cycoactive has great customer service. I have never tried the others.

this mount should work, I think

Thanks kraw, that is the mount I would need. DO they hold up well jumping? I wouldn't always jump with it on, but some of our spots there are lots of jumps. It looks pretty strong.
