I have a 97' shee, and i go to the mx track and jump some big doubles, and other large jumps with it, i have just now found out that the left rear wheel sits farther forward than the right rear wheel by a few inches (one or two inches), a mechanic told me i had a shot swingarm bearing and i think thats the problem, i have the swingarm bearing now, but i want to let my mechanic put it on, i was wondering if the swingarm bearing is the problem or if it is something else. any help would be greatly appreciated.

it's probably the side with the sprocket thats more forward right?
the power on that side always wears that bearing out first

If there is a lot of play in the rear end, meaning if you pull side to side on the grab bar, it is most likely the swingarm bearings, like you said. If there is no play, check the axle bearings. Hope ya get it back together.
