Plaza Cycle Sucks @$$ I'm angry!!

So I picked up my new yfz 2 weeks ago from the above mentioned place in Utah.....They sold it to me under the agreement that it would be with Yamaha's 3.9% for 1 1/2 years....2 weeks later they inform me that they can not do this....without an apology or anything and told me 8.9% for 1 1/2 years. Because Yamaha does not allow their 04 models to be financed w/ the 3.9% promo. This I understand.....what I don't understand is that this in not MY mistake, but yet they are treating me like it is. I remeber signing the contract which stated 3.9%....the sale was based upon this agreement.......DO I HAVE ANY RIGHTS AS IT PERTAINS TO THIS???

I will agree Plaza cycle does suck, but on to your deal. Does your contract say 3.9%, if it does give them the foot in a$$ treatment, if it does not say an interest rate you might have to pay the 8.9%, simply because they can say they never offered you the 3.9%. Hope I could be some help. I went through the same thing when I bought my Z from Layton Cycle. I had to end up refinancing with America First.

I remember signing something that showed the 3.9 till 1/05 but I didn't get a copy of that....I only got an invoice which did not show the promotional 3.9.....but I don't know if it is legally binding....there is probably a statement on there stating they can change the interest rate at any time for any reason.

I think I remember telling you to avoid Plaza Cycle....oh well,
People do this so much, they get all excited to buy a new quad, and sign a contract before they know all about the deal. It is their fault for not knowing that they could not give you that deal, but you have to take some fault too, for not reading you contract fully, or not getting a copy of it. They are a big dealership, who knows what to do, they obviously have you by the short and curly, if you really did sign the contract you said you did, they couldn' tchange it.
PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU SIGN....
Yeah, I know you should be able to trust a dealership, but why do you think they call it a stealership?
I really do feal for you, that sucks, but thats the same reason I have always said PLAZA SUCKS!!!

Talk to the F&I manager at the dealership and tell him you need to review your file. Visit him in person. Take a look at your file and the 3.9% document you signed, to see what the fine print says. Also, go get a copy of the Yamaha promotion that's out there (I saw it and don't recall anything saying what model year qualifies). Explain that you bought the quad because of the 3.9%, and that you require them to credit/refund you the difference. Depending on what you financed, it's probably $500 or so this "mistake" will cost you. Tell them you want a check, or store credit for the difference. Tell them that even if its a good faith measure, the positive publicity they get out of it from you telling all your buddies how cool they were will defintely be worth it. If you signed a contract that shows the 3.9%, unless the documents say that the dealer can flip you to 8.9%, you may need to sign something else. If it is the case you have a lot more leverage with them because they need your signature to finance the deal.

has anybody talked to their service department?
I did once and never again. I added a couple of links to my chain for bigger sprockets and had two master links on it. The service manager freaked out and told me never to do this on a high HP machine.
when in fact its been like this for a year and a half and runs fine
or ask them how much oil a raptor holds you'll get the "deer in the headlights look"

They did the same thing to a friend of mine here in Los Angeles. He bought an 03 raptor from Yamaha of Hollywood. When he signed the contract it was at the promotional apr. But when he got his first bill, it was at 18.99percent! I went with him when he went to the dealer to talk about it and they were basically a$$holes about it. They even kicked me off the premises, because the sales guy said I was intimidating him. He even tried to kick me off the sidewalk, but I told him to kiss my *** cuz the sidewalk is public and I could stand there all day if I wanted to. Anyway, they never changed the apr, so he just paid off the whole thing cash....I'll never buy an atv from there and I hope no one else does either...

Unfortuanately, since the cycle shop is only a middle man, the yamaha finance program won't be able to give you a better deal. All the dealerships have the same memo on the yamaha program, 3.9% on 03's, 5.9% on 04's, and 8.9% on the yfz and a couple of other new models. If you signed a contract for, 3.9%, you are legally entitled to that from Plaza and can sue them accordingly, but the yamaha financing is free and clear. Have your lawyer call them and their tone will change. Legally They will have to pay the difference for the term of the loan
