Default Stock Banshee Vs Stock Raptor

calm down moldycheese... there is no need to attack suzukirider.... What did he say that was so wrong. AFter reading what he wrote I don't think that he believes that the powerband is an actual mechanical part of the quad. Besides every vehicle has a powerband its just a lot more pronounced on a something like the banshee since all the power is in the mid and top I have rode a piped banshee its no power to all power in a second and you just roost everywhere uncontrollably.... its like riding a bull... I love it!!! 125's and 250's have big powerbands especially 125's but 500's don't have a big jump since their large single cylinder bore gives them a more electric torquey power delivery... I know this... I have an LT500Quadzilla as well as my Quadracer. Banshee's do not come stock with a powervalve and never have. And if you must know the banshee came out after powervalves had been used for years. I know for a fact that the 1982 and later YZ 125/250's had powervalves. The big bore bikes had a boost bottle like my brother's tri-z trike. The Banshee motor is based one The RZ350 motorcylce. The motor started out in the 70's on the RD350 but it was air cooled. In 1982 the RZ350 was introduced. This model was liquid cooled. This motor is the motor used for the banshee except with diff. pipes and gears. In 1986 Yamaha upgraded the RZ350 with powervalves giving the bike much more low end power. This happened a year b4 the banshee was released in 1987. Yamaha could have put a powervalve in the banshee but my guess is that they were too cheap to spend the extra money.... Just like they were too cheap to put operational rear brakes on the blaster until after 14 years of rear brake failure. I own a 2000 blaster with this problem as well. Don't attack another's post unless you really know what you are talking about!!!! Oh and whoever was asking. The Quadracer came out in 1985 when all the other companies were still messing around with trikes... Suzuki was way ahead of its time and the fact that I see so many quadracers still proves that there marketing was effective and must have sold many of them. In 1987 The quadzilla was introduced until being discontinued in 1990. IN 1987 The frame and seat and the motor was upgraded with a powervalve and a bigger carb for 1987 to 1990 (on the LT250.) In 1991-1992 (Lt250) the rear suspension was greatly upgraded to motocross bike specs and the entire quad was further refined...Thats why I bought a 92 Quadracer.

Suzukirider3698; I had a 2001 GSXR-750 (Blue/White) and if your serious about superbikes then look no further than the Gixxer 750. I don't like the stacked lights the only reason that I wouldn't buy an 04 edition. Best combination of speed & agility of any superbike....
