Raptor 01 mods:
Lightened flywheel/starter clutch
Lightened crank
Carillo rod
Ported head with matched intake boots
Stainless valves stock size
Megacycle X4 cam
Kibble springs
13:1 piston w/ TI wirst pin
Stock carbs with 195/200 stock style jets
110-112 octane fuel
twin k&ns with no air box
02 gears
bike is lightened some(cut plastic front and rear, no airbox, no heel guards, misc. brackets, no bumpers, no lights)
+4 swingarm
8 paddle Extreme haulers
How's this combo sound? Any more stuff to do for a little more increase in drag racing it? Mostly soft sand drag racing.

I haven't lost to any 4 strokes that I've raced yet (and thats alot). I dynoed at about 60 HP to give you an idea of what kind of power that setup might pull. Right now it's not running but will be soon. The stock rod broke cause I didn't replace it with the Carillo one.

i would consider either a dial-a-jet or an edlebrok carb. also call pingry...they say their airbox gives you a 3.5 hp gain. they went on to tell me someone over at curtis sparks dyno'd it to get those numbers and tested it against the K&N without airbox and got bigger gains. the explanation revolved around the dual carb set-up. according to them...when one carbs open the other ones closed and therefore the carb perform better in a vacuum/box.
i'm doing a poor job of explaining it...but like i said they dyno'd it. and got bigger gains. i ordered one because i need an airbox where i ride. call them for the details or go to ppdracing.com and contact them via email.

I've considered the FCRs but want a HP increase. I've heard that with my setup I might see 1 HP. Not worth the money to me. I also hear of people modding the stock carbs to get more HP from them.
I'll never go back to 01 gears. They are a flawed design. I like the 02 gears better myself.
Don't know what to think about the carbs opening seperately? They are opened by throttle at the same time, and then vacumn moves the slides. The intake valves open at the same time as well. Not sure how they could possibly open a different times. I think the dual K&N setup is the way to go for max flow, but I'm no expert.

If you get the FCRs, your off-idle performance will be dramatically improved. There is no comparison between the stock CV carbs and the FCR accelerator pump as far as throttle response. FWIW, I've heard 5 HP with 35mm FCRs is possible over the stock carbs but haven't seen any dyno runs to back it up.
