What is the best quad for me? Raptor, Banshee, or YFZ450
#1
Hi,
I'm looking to buy a quad shortly and would like some opinions on what I should go with. I'll be mainly riding sand, mainly dunes of Silver Lake Michigan... some trail riding and possibly mild rock climbing may come in the future but as of right now just dunes... Any suggestions on what would be the best to go with? I like acceleration and jumping, top end speed is nice but I like acceleration.
I'm about 220lbs with quite a bit of riding experiance although no racing background. Please make some suggestions on what you think I should go with, along with some reasoning behing your suggestion.
Thanks,
Blaine

its all pref. 2 strokes need to be re-built periodically which can be a pain in the a## if u dont know what ur doing. The only thing that would worry me about the yfz would be its a first year quad..........we all know what the raptor was like in 01. and YES dirtwheelz said it was the best quad ever back then......and at the time it was a piece of junk.....since yamaha has fixed all the bugs that came with the 01. as far as preformance goes the raptor and banshee are pretty equal. if u want to drag then id go with the banshee but for a all around bike thats sick id go with the raptor or jus wait a year then get a yfz

A banshee is an awesome sand dune bike. Not stock, but put some pipes and an airfilter on and there is nothing like a bashee rush! You will never run out of power options and after some good porting there is nothing out there that will stay with a hot banshee.

Go with an 04' Bombardier DS650 Baja or Baja X if you are a bigger person. If not it realy doesn't matter in 04' because the DS was made lighter, shorter and a bit narrower then previous models. It is better for trail riding and I believe it is quicker than previous years due to weight savings and shorter swing arm.
