what does a blinking reverse light mean on a raptor??? i had just gotten back from trying out new jets and the reverse light was blinking and my quad was idleing higher than normal.

 

If you idle high for a few minutes without moving the light will blink, it's normal.

 

have you tried adjusting your idle screw? The reverse light on mine does that too. I think its just kind of an error thing. I just down shift and get it back into neutral and it turns off then. Nothing big I dont think

 

It just means the quad is revving too high for too long..basically. Just turn it off and start it again. Or get on it and ride it up and down the driveway once. Its just a high rev warning....[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

So let me figure this out guys..... If my reverse light is blinking that means it idling to high? Im confused, I thought it just meant it was kinda in between reverse and neutral (error I was guessing)

so does follow the light blinking by idleing high too by itself? i turned the screw out to when it was at a good ide and the it would idle high and my pipes got hot a hell. so i put the fan to work full time by tappin in to it.

 

Just idling high shouldn't set off the light, you also need to not be rolling. There is a speed sensor on the engine. So if the ECM senses a higher than normal RPMs and no speed from the sensor the light will blink.
