haha, nah I dont think he was talkin bout' me.... (hmm, 2 years here, nah not me)
Hey guys (specially 250R4LIFE), im not doggin the YFZ in the least. Im so glad to see it here,
major props to Yamaha.
Im just playin around. That YFZ is a killer.
(but no way-no how will it beat my Zilla in a drag race. Its a 45 HP machine, not a 60 or 70HP machine)
Diescarred: You live here in so cal and you cant find a Zilla?
Take a look in the recycler, (about 5 in there now including mine), take a look at cycletrader.com, they are out there.
Other parts of the country they are more rare..
250R4LIFE: to answer your question about the Zilla drag bike deal,
my guess is parts availability.
A 500CC powervalved 2 stroke is a killer motor to make a drag bike out of, but they dont have
the aftermarket support that Shee's and R's have for some reason.
Think about it... a bored and stroked 600CC alcohol breathing Zilla... it might be fast.. real fast

fastest LT pretty much ever built was a stroked 540cc zilla on alcohol. Ran 72 up SM last year i believe and ran a 4.5x at dunefest. Hardly unbeatable, especially for its size, but nonetheless its fast.
We only bring the 2-stroke vs. 4-stroke thing up because all we ever hear is how fast your raptors, yfz's, ect are. Nobody ever talks about how the 2-strokes still dominate...oh wait...probably because they are sick of hearing it. Press on

I liked my 2 stroke bikes that I owned when I rode bikes, a 4 stroke can never match their screaming top ends. I recently rode a 03 CR250 and a 03 CRF450 and the 450 was much better though. I liked every aspect of it better except that it scared the crap out of me....lol!

I don't think this thread was meant to be a comparison about whether a 2 stroke is better than a 4 stroke. he was just comparing his 450 to trx250 which happens to be a 4 stroke & a 2 stroke. But that's what this has turned into. Which is cool with me. I would rather be over here doing that, than over at the Bombadier forum where there all singing coom-bi-ya. But anyways!I would be the first to tell you, that I love 2 strokes over 4 strokes. But 2 strokes are a becoming a thing of the past. There's not to many 2 strokes to chose from except the
banshee & blaster. And those bikes aren't for me at all. and how much longer are they going to make those. So most of us will eventually
have to switch over to the 4 strokes. I'm just glad there making 4 strokes run like they do. There will be 2 strokes out at the drags & on
the MX tracks for many years to come. And they will still probably be dominating. But if your just a recreational rider, who wants a old
bike that you have to constantly maintain to keep up to par because it's 15 years old. Well I don't. But if you do, there's nothing wrong
with that because there's nothing like that hit on a 2 stroke. I always have had your basic stock 250R with a pipe. And I told myself if
they can make a 4 stroke that can handle & run like my 250R without a bunch of mods, I would buy one. Well It happened. and I bought
one. But little did I know that they would surpass it. A stock YfZ450 is without a doubt is a step above a stock 250R. And I'm sure the new
Honda 450 will to. I'm glad to have a NEW bike that suits me. I had my doubts that would ever happen. Before 99 when Honda came out
with the 400ex, this sport was slowly dying. now with all these new 4 strokes the sport is one of the fastest growing sports around.
