new UPP carb boots wont hold?!?!?!?
#1
i purchased the UPP boots like everyone told me to do. I bolted them onto the engine and when it came time to clamping them to the carb, as i tighten then, they push themselves off the carb. I push against it as hard as i can but the more i tighten them, the more they push away. I replaced the stock clamps with hose clamps and those didnt help at all. Can someone PLEEAASSSeEE telll me what is wrong??? thanks for help asap!

does anyone know why this is happening. Should i use more narrow hose clamps? the hose clamps i have no are barely wider than the little area meant for them to go around.

Try pushing the carbs into the UPP boots as far as you can and move the hose clamp as close to the body of the carb as possible. If the hose clamp is sliding toward the head as it tightens, it will push the carb out. You'll know the UPP boot is all the way when it touches the carb body. If your hose clamps are a little wider than the groove, make sure the extra is on the side of the carb.

To all that have never done it before, it is really pretty easy. and no, they come with slighly longer bolts, but no clamps for the carbs...alteast mine didnt. any other suggestions would be appreciated. thanks and have a good night.

I really had to force mine in there, but once they got to a certain point, they felt like they snapped in, and aren't goin anywhere now. By the way, make sure you use your stock clamps!!!! They work fine! Just really crank 'em down and take the spacer out. Good Luck
