Like he said it depends on the tranny gearing.

i've raced a couple 450's on my stock raptor i dont have paddles though and have only raced one without. the one without paddles beat me by 4-5 lenghts. with paddles by 7-8

how is the tranny on the 450? Is there big spaces between gears or are they pretty close together?

They usually have the ratios in the owners manual, maybe someone could post them. They might be on the yamaha site under the specs.

Default YFZ 450 vs RAPTOR DRAG

1st gear is tall. But 2nd through fifth is very close together. The YFZ sprocket ratio is 2.64 & the Raptor sprocket ratio is 3.08.
So yeah the sprocket ratio is a little higher on the 450. But I don't know about the trannys.
