Who has the cheapest replacement gear for the rap?? I just want second gear, not the whole kit, cuz once its fixed, its gone[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif[/img]

 

Did it take a dive? What happened and what were you doing when it went.

 

You can buy a 2001 2nd gear. But to change to 2002 2nd you will need all the gears except the reverse set.

Oh, and its the 4th gear wheel with actually goes bad and takes the shiftfork 1 and 2nd gear wheel with it.

 

riding down a dirt road, shifted into second and heard a LOUD pop or crunch, sounded like a big @$$ rock flew up and hit the frame, and it kept making noise and shaking weird so i stoped to see if i was dragging something, of course there was nothing so i got back on, shifted to 2nd and it was gone.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif[/img]

Warrior007, is there a kit that i can get that will replace what i need and nothing else. I'm trying to get away with the bare minimum so i can sell it.

 

No kit that I am aware of for just that

You need a head and base gasket
Crankcase gasket
4th gear wheel
2nd gear wheel
shoft fork 1

and you should be good to go unless other things were damaged (unlikely)

Reliability was a word that wasnt in Yamaha's vocabulary in 2001. My stator has gone out twice($260), but is there anyone else to share my pain with??? NOO!! Whatever it is with me and stators sucks.
