I have the oppurtunity to buy either a used '99 Grizzly for $4700 or get a brand new '00 big bear for $4999.
The Grizzly needs some work and I think I can get the Grizzly for $4400. It has super swampers but it also has 1700 miles, I think it has been well maintained but you never really know. It needs rear brake pads and the sollenoid in the starter has been by passed.
It comes down to 600 vs 400,
Please give me some advice!

its no contest really i love my grizz but i would take the bear. It is new so you know it is gona last. 1700 is alot of miles in my opinion. And from what you describe it was not well cared for

bought 00 bigbear buckmaster put on 27" mudbugs to increase top speed and for mudding top speed still only 45 mph at 7000 rpm and 1st gear to low to get tire speed for mudding forget 2nd gear will not handle it. good trail machine in woods and for towing excellent motor no vibration and 25 miles to gallon. fenders cracked but will be covered by yamaha. after30 hours and tired of having to play catch up with other wheelers traded down to 99 grizz with 1100 miles 0n it. had to PAY- $800.00 to boot ! iput my mudbugs on it and winch. i now have 72 hours on the grizz and am much happier it does vibrate more but the 2-4 option and hi-low range and far more power are worth it. 20 miles to gallon. 57 mph. the bear is excellent for woods riding or hauling but if you want get out and play or mudding the grizz rules!
