I'm considering two mods for my Raptor

A Yoshimura exhaust (it damn nice looking.. but is it the best?)

and... a higher compression piston. Something that I can run 94 octane. No cams.. just more grunt from a piston. Is it worth it? I read it will give 4-3 horsepower more.

 

I think I would either get a yoshi or a sparks.......
an 11:1 piston will allow you to run pump gas......
and while you have it apart I would put another cam in it also.......

 

11:1 piston, sparks exhaust, craycraft porting, and put a cam in it.

 

A cam will do more for you and would be cheaper.IMO

A hotcams from Craycraft is about $135, I've seen them cheaper on ebay but the excellent service from Bob is worth the extra $5 or $10. A piston is about $145 for a JE and you need it fitted to the cyl. $20 or so for honing $60 or so if you have it bored and you would also need a head and base gasket another $50.

 

So would you say they are trying ot rip me off for my cams on my Predator? The only reason I went with the piston was cuz they wanted like 350 plus core!

I paid 115 for my hot cam
