I always wondered what a sled would do in the sand. I could imagine it would be hard on the track and rollers and such but I bet it would run like a raped ape. Anybody ever seen this?

 

I saw it on TV once, they were rfacing at the dunes, they worked really good too, they were better than quads at the dunes.

 

I raced some mildly built banshees at a grass drag once on my 1980 Yamaha SRX 440. Needless to say it is the only snowmobiling trophy I have with a motorcycle on top of it. After kicking everyones a$$ I shot the water a couple times for $hits and grins.

I've heard about that too!! Never seen it though I have a buddy w/ a junker snowmobile he wants to take out to the dunes. If he ever does, I'll let you know when we'll be out there.

I have a buddy out of houston, tx. who bought two from "Berts Dirt Works" 1 is a polaris 750 I think snowmoblie with small front tires instead of tracks & a polaris scrammy with a 800cc snowmobile motor with some mods. This thing shreds 25" realator tires on the grass & hard packed surfaces here. It has a hard time hooking up. I think sand flats or dunes would be better running for it. I think it puts out 140-150 HP I think. But that only does good if you can put it to the track and hook up, if not a smaller HP bike can put it to you. I think that he would do better in deep sand because this flat $hit is doing him know good until he detunes it. watching it shoot roosters 100' or so. That just my 2c worth! Later! Joe
